WELCOME TO OKINAWA
Three years ago I came to Okinawa, Japan. Since then, I have seen or heard many things that surprised me.
Okinawa is a small island in the Pacific Ocean that contains incredible things: amazing tropical nature, unique people, extraordinary history, and distinctive traditions. Today I propose to talk about Okinawa, and I hope you will enjoy my story.
THE MOST INTERESTING

Okinawan glass
After the Second World War, Okinawans began recycling American glassware, making tableware and other household items from recycled materials. But the temporary occupation turned out to be fascinating and turned into a local traditional art form. The Okinawans got quite used to it, and master glassblowers appeared. Nowadays, unusual colorful dishes can be purchased in local shops.
But since the production is artisanal, each glass is unique. This glassware is a very valuable souvenir because Ryukyu craftsmen have learned to skillfully put rainbow colors into intricate glass curls, as if to bring them to life.
Nowadays, there is an "Okinawa Glass Village" where you can visit a glassblower, try to make your own glassware and take it home with you.
